Brief Summary:
This activity is aimed at completing the requirements for Basic Water Rescues. For youth members, there will be the opportunity to complete the in-water components for stages 4 to 5 of the lifesaving stream of Aquatics. There is a requirement that any participant be able to complete a 200 metres swim
Additional Information

This is an assessment activity for those wishing to attain Basic Water Rescues.

Basic Water Rescues is a mandatory requirement for leaders wishing to take their youth members swimming at unpatrolled flatwater environments and to meet requirements for other aqautic qualifications such as Trained Participant Snorkelling, Assistant Guide Canyoning/Canoeing/Kayaking

Basic Water Rescues can be used as evideence towards a unit of competency completing units towards a Cert II in Outdoor Recreation / Cert III in Outdoor Leadership.

Please bring swimming attire, 2 towels and drinks/snacks/

If wanting to undertake the OAS Stages in water assessments, please send an email to the event organiser to confirm. Please also bring the following items of clotthing to be worn in the swimming pool for the assessment

Long pants
Long sleeved shirt (recommend a button-up or button-down shirt due to additional difficulty removing a long sleeved t-shirt or sweatshirt)
Jumper
Socks
Shoes
