Epping to Eastwood Station via Lane Cove River

START:   Everyone Meet at 10:00AM at EPPING RAILWAY STATION
Each Home Unit to make their own arrangements and determine their own costs to be present at the starting point by the required starting time.
FINISH: Approximately 3:30PM at EASTWOOD RAILWAY STATION
Each Home Unit to make their own arrangements to return home.

Estimated Period of Event: 5 ½ hrs including stops for snacks and lunch.
Approximate Walking Distance: 10km

WEAR:  Scout Uniform [with Sun Hat and Enclosed Shoes]
BRING:  Opal Card, Small Backpack with Full Water Bottle; Snacks, Lunch, Drinks, Warm Jumper and Raincoat [check forecast on the day].

MORNING TRANSPORT OPTION for Leaders to consider: Take the TRAIN to Chatswood and change to METRO at Chatswood and continue to EPPING Station on METRO; Cubs can then sit in front driverless carriage and look at forward scenery during travel.

MAP: Attached is a map by WildWalks which describes the Hike similar to our planned route.

NOTE:  We will be monitoring the Fire Ban situation and should know if a Fire Ban is called in the early evening of 18 November 2023.  If a fire ban is called, we are not allowed into the Lane Cove National Park so the event will need to be cancelled.  At that time, we will contact all Leaders so that they can pass on the information to their respective families.
