Participants travel from Governor Phillip Park Boat Ramp (Windsor) to Cattai Campground and explore Cattai Creek during the Australia Day long weekends. The event will present Scouts with knowledge and skill development opportunities for OAS Paddling stage 4-5 progressions. Develop confidence in Paddling activities.

Develop paddling skills, including forward and reverse paddle, forward and reverse sweeps, stern rudder, low support, and emergency stop. Also, we will practice canoe rafting and exchange passengers and towing.

No intentional Captize during the journey.

This activity is not for nervous paddlers.

Canoe, Paddle and PFD will provided. If you plan to bring your own, please let the organisers know in advance.

Good fitness and padding skills will be a requirement to join the event.

This event is supervised by an Adventure Activity Guide.

Leaders will get an opportunity to collect evidence for inland flat-water canoe or kayak qualifications (Safe Participant, Trained Participant). Since the activity is planned and led by a Scout, leaders and adults will not intervene but paddle 50m behind the Scout patrol.
