Brief Summary:
Hills District Scouts are invited to join our annual Hills District Scout Camp at the beachside Glenrock Scout Centre. The camp will be run as a patrol-based friendly competition camp. With awards for various elements and a perpetual trophy awarded for the overall winner. Patrols need to source and supply their own meals for the weekend and must invite a 'Celebrity Judge' (Leader) for dinner on Saturday night. Either gas or campfire can be used for cooking, and Saturday dinner will be part of the camp competition. Camp activities will include swimming and other water activities and wide games and abseiling.

Cost
Catering will be an additional cost on top of the camp fee. Patrols will plan and fund their own catering for the weekend.

Transport
Each patrol should coordinate their own transport to camp.

Awards and Patrols Points
The camp is a friendly competition camp with points awarded for activties and achievements such as, camp layout, Saturday dinner, patrol theme, team work, enthusiasm, dress-up, camp gadgets, camp site inspections, participation in activities.

Equipment & Packing Lists
Please pack for a 2 night standing camp with water activities. Example packing list is attached.
Patrols will need to organise and supply all their own equipment incuding tents, shelters, lighting, cooking & utensils. Each patrol must be self-sufficient, however if there are multiple patrols atending from the same Unit you may share larger equipment such as BBQs, burners.
Patrols must remember to pack equipment needed for construction of their gadget & catapult.

Meals
Friday: Please eat dinner before arriving at your hall for transport to camp. You may like to bring $5-10 and nag your driver for a fast-food stop on the way.

  • Patrols are to plan a menu, and purchase all food and supplies for the weekend.
  • Each patrol must invite a leader from a different unit to join them for Saturday dinner
  • Scouts will prepare and cook their own meals as a patrol

Leaders
Please supply your own tents. The camp is fully catered for leaders and necessary equipment will be supplied. There is a permanent shelter and picnic tables for the leaders to use as their dining area.
Scouts will be cooking dinner for leaders on Saturday night.
