Riding a bike is one of the most important parts of my life – I love it so much I try to ride a bike (I have 4!) each day. It feels like flying! I would love to share the ride with you.
Not everyone gets a chance to learn how to ride a bike. This is your day to give it a go. This day is for complete beginners and un-confident novices. We will do some skills development; we will have special starting bikes and we will go at your pace.
Riding is all about having fun: we will make sure your day is fun no matter what happens.
Bring your own bike – even if it is not working well. We will have some repair kits and do our best to get you rolling.
If you don’t have a bike, please let us know. Scouts has a ton that you can borrow!
You will need to bring the following for the ride:
Optional items you can bring:
Since we will be riding over lunch time you may want to think about bringing lunch too
Joeys/Cubs/Scouts/Venturers are recommended to wear their uniform shirt to the event.
About Heffron Pedal Park
https://www.randwick.nsw.gov.au/facilities-and-recreation/parks/bike-tracks/heffron-pedal-park
he Heffron Pedal Park is a fun, miniature road network for kids to ride bicycles and scooters. The Pedal Park features various road signs, road markings and road rule information signs to help children develop vital road safety riding skills.
It's a good facility for children who can ride confidently and want to further develop their skills in a safe, fenced and off-road environment.
The Pedal Park was officially opened in 2013 as part of Randwick City Council's ongoing works as part of the Heffron Park Plan of Management.
There is ample parking nearby, a children's playground, public toilets, shade and seating areas.
There are numerous beaches nearby so you might like to extend the day and visit La Perouse, Little Bay or many of the other places.
