Caving Skills Weekend

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ROCK ACTIVITIES LOG TO THE EVENT CO-ORDINATOR BY CLOSING DATE
 
We will explore cave environments and learn about cave systems and their conservation. You will learn basic caving skills, and apply your abseil skills inside caves.
A pre-requisite for this skills weekend is abseiling skills acquired at Region abseil skills days, to a standard specified by the Region Rock Activities Co-ordinator.
 
Minimum age 14 years.
 
 
Locations:
Wednesday 5th September at Bundilla Scout Camp, 7 pm to 8.30 pm for compulsory THEORY NIGHT.
Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th September at Bungonia Caves.  Start 9 am, finish 4 pm (Sat.), 2 pm (Sun.) 
 
Please note that supervision of Youth Members is provided by Region Leaders during caving hours only.
 
Camping is available at Bungonia, with toilets and hot showers.  There is a daily car fee ($7) and a daily per person camping fee.  These have not been included in the skills weekend costs.

We may be able to provide some transport with a fee for fuel. Please email the event co-ordinator.
 
 
Details of suitable clothing, torches, directions etc. will be covered at the theory night.
