Blackheath Glen Night Hike

Regular trains to Medlow Bath from Sydney. Car parking available at Medlow Bath and Blackheath Stations.

Carry minimum overnight gear. Leave town approx. 8 pm on Friday evening. Arrival at site estimated after midnight. Set up camp and sleep. Wake up and cook breakfast. Saturday morning pick up Blackheath Glen 6 am to 7:30 am or Shipley Gallery approx 11 am or Blackheath approx 1 pm or 2 pm. If early we can drop into the shops and cafes.

Please note Valley Track involves unfenced sections close to cliff edges. Stairs and a ladder will be encountered. Locals use this track regularly to access the valley however we don't recommend this for anyone uncomfortable with heights.

Camping at a small clearing with non flushing toilets. Bush toileting and hygiene during hike. Carparking close by. Track undulates and includes stairs. Scouts are encouraged to cook breakfast on fuel stoves.

Eat dinner before, buy dinner in Blackheath or bring something easy. Scouts can be picked up early on Saturday if they have family or sporting commitments. An opportunity for youth members who are adjusting to carrying a loaded pack. Minimal costs involved self catering breakfast and morning tea.
