2020 Adult Recognition Awards Presentation

GWS Region would like to invite all Award Recipients, their guests and other members of Scouting to attend the presentation of the 2020 Adult Recognition Awards to be held at 11am in the grounds of Bundilla Scout Activity Centre on Sunday 6th December 2020.

Unlike previous years, this event has been modified to suit the current COVID-19 restrictions put in place by Scouts NSW and the NSW Government under the corporate events heading. The event will be a sit-down presentation with no food or drink and limited physical contacct. We encourage all groups to arrange for a local informal celebration with their attendees following the ceremony. We appreciate the patience of all award recipients, while we have sought to plan an appropiate ceremony.

All award recipients, guests and staff are asked to register thier attendance on this site before the 1st December 2020 and you will recieve a ticket to either print or show on your phone in the week leading up to the event. All contacts within a family unit or close contacts are asked to register on one registration so that we can appropriately space people for this event.

In the event of inclement weather, alternative presentation arrangements will be made to continue the presentation at the same date and time.

There is no cost for this event, however as in previous years, groups will be invoiced for a portion of the cost of the award and presentation. This will be arranged in the coming weeks.

This format is a once off and we look forward to returning to the annual awards presentation dinner in 2021 if possible.

COVID-19 Information & Restrictions 

To ensure that we deliver a safe and enjoyable event for all, the following restrictions apply:

• Where practicable, this event is open to Adult Members of Scouting only. We understand that in some cases, a Youth member may need to attend as both parents are present, but this should be avoided if possible.
• There is a maximum of 200 award recipients and guests allowed at the event.
• All attendees (Award Recipients, Guests, Staff and Volunteers) must register before the 1/12/2020 on the GWS Region EMS. There is a strict pre-registration policy in place and if you are not registered to attend, you will not be allowed entry to the grounds.
• No food and drink will be served at this event. Water will be available.

• Anyone who has visited a location in the last 14 days that requires self-isolation by the NSW Government should not attend this event. • This event is occurring under the Corporate Event Guidelines and has been approved by the Scouts NSW COVID-19 Task Force. The event has had a COVID-Safe plan submitted with the NSW Government. Final approval from NSW Health is pending at the time of this letter.
• This event is subject to the Public Health Orders as outlined by the NSW Government and approval of the event may be revoked at any time.

All award recipients and guests are welcome to wear masks and gloves if they feel it is appropriate.

If you are classified as a vulnerable person to COVID-19, or you do not feel comfortable attending this event, we understand completely and we will make arrangements to present your award at a local ceremony in early 2021.
