(Please note: This event was postponed from 13 March 2021 to 23 October 2021)

Meet at Lake Parramatta at 8:15am for commencement time of 8:30am sharp for a day of picknicking, fun and games paddling in a clean, calm, flat water environment.

Participants will need to wear uniform to and from the venue and bring the following:

  • Lunch, Snacks, Drink, Water Bottle,
  • 2 towels,
  • a change of clothes, warm jumper,
  • water shoes,
  • knee pads or thick foam (for kneeling in the boat they have a hard bottom),
  • rash vest, swimmers (wear under uniform), boardies or long shorts,
  • goggles,
  • sunscreen
  • hat

Participants and parents without water shoes, sunscreen and a hat will not be permitted to participate.

Please do not be late as parking is not plentiful (in fact less plentiful than before as some of the car park became picnic area). There is a cafe on site and BBQs (which book out pretty fast early in the morning).

Unit Leaders, acting as 'group coordinator', are encouraged to register their Unit as a group for this activity.

Joey Scouts must be accompanied by a parent.

Cubs Scouts are to be accompanied by a leader or parent.

Cub participants should be able to tread water, float and swim a minimum of 25 metres using any stroke whilst wearing a life jacket.

Groups are encouraged to bring along Group Canoes, life jackets and paddles if you have them. Please advise Mark Fell (mark.fell@nsw.scouts.com.au) if you are able to assist in this area.

SIS water activity guides and leaders will be present to help novice paddlers.
