Trivia Fundraiser for Tony

On Christmas eve, our Deputy Region Commissioner Tony Dent, was admitted to intensive care, requiring major, life-saving surgery. Unfortunately for Tony, to save his life the doctors needed to amputate one of his legs above the knee, leaving him in hospital for the foreseeable future as he recovers. 

Tony’s life will not be the same, as he comes to terms with the loss of his leg. 

For over 40 years, Tony and his family has given service to the youth members of Western Sydney, and in return, Greater Western Sydney Region want to support Tony and his family through this difficult period, especially with the costs they will incur regarding home modifications and other medical bills. 

As a kick starter, we are holding a charity trivia event, games and a charity auction. All money raised will go towards altering Tony’s home to accommodate his wheelchair, prosthesis and other medical costs. 

When: 2pm to 5pm, Sunday 12th March 2023 
Venue: Merrylands RSL Club, 8 Miller St, Merrylands 2160
Cost: $25 per person
Dress: Casual (and as per Merrylands RSL Club requirements)

Under 18's are welcome at the event but must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult in accordance with Merrylands RSL Club Minors Policy

We are seeking cash donations to contribute to our target. Any person or business able to donate over $500 will have their name listed in our trivia night program as a major sponsor. For those individuals or businesses able to donate over $1,000, they will also be listed in our Bulletin which goes out to all members of Scouts in the Greater Western Sydney Region; 

You could donate a prize to be auctioned at our trivia fundraiser on Sunday 12th March 2023. For example, it could be an autographed piece of memorabilia or a voucher for your business. All prizes would be welcomed.
